8th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, “Footprints in Roots”

Co-sponsored with the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission (NCPPC) – Prince George’s County, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Suitland, MD), and the Prince George’s County Historical Society. 

Juneteenth is celebrated in more than 200 cities in the United States.  It marked the unofficial end of slavery in the United States. To commemorate this historic event, AAHGS-PGCM presents a series of workshops and/panel discussions for beginning to advanced level family historians.
